The CENSUS data model as a weighted adjacency matrix
The CENSUS data model depicted as an adjacency matrix. Every node type is represented as a line and a column. The total number of links between two nodetypes is indicated in the intersecting cell of the respective lines and columns. Links point OUT of the lines IN to the columns. The number of links given in the cells combines all existing link types between two nodetypes – for example ‘date of birth‘ and ‘date of death‘ in the Person–Date cell. The ‘total number of nodes‘ given in the first row corresponds directly to the node size in Figure 3.
